| NEWS RELEASE Troop L April 21, 2008 Today, at 2:44 AM, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a one vehicle crash that resulted in the death of a Franklinton resident. The crash occurred on LA 10 at milepost 232.9 in Washington Parish. A 1995 Isuzu Trooper, driven by Broderick Evans (B/M/Age 37) of Franklinton, LA, was traveling westbound on LA 10. The driver failed to maintain control of his vehicle and traveled off the roadway to the right. The vehicle continued to travel off the roadway for approximately 300 feet, before the driver overcorrected to the left. The Isuzu Trooper traveled across both lanes of LA 10 while rotating counterclockwise and then traveled off the south side of the roadway. While off the roadway the vehicle impacted a ditch embankment and the Isuzu Trooper flipped over twice. The driver was not seat belted in at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle as it overturned. The driver of the 1995 Isuzu Trooper, Broderick Evans of Franklinton, LA, was transported to Riverside Medical by Northshore EMS to receive medical treatment for severe injuries. At 6:30 AM, Louisiana State Police Troop L was advised that Broderick Evans was pronounced dead at Riverside Medical by Dr. Angle, due to injuries sustained in the crash. The driver was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. Alcohol usage is suspected and blood results are pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. Contact Information: Tfc.
