Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A- NEWS RELEASE Bicyclist Pronounced Dead After Crash At 5:31 PM, on Monday, June 09, 2008, Louisiana State Police – Troop A began investigating a two-vehicle crash involving a bicycle. The crash occurred on LA Hwy 75 north of LA Hwy 327 in Iberville Parish. A 1995 GMC Pickup truck traveled north on LA Hwy 75 and the driver looked away from the road. In that instant, the GMC crashed into the rear of a bicyclist. The impact of the crash forced the rider, Colin Goodier (Male/Age 29) of New Orleans, LA, off the bicycle. Acadian Air-Med transported the Mr. Goodier to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital with serious injuries. Shortly after reaching the hospital, Mr. Goodier was pronounced dead by a member of the hospital staff. The driver of the GMC, Allen R. Ketelsen (Male/Age 34) of Baton Rouge, LA, did not sustain injury and was booked into the Iberville Parish Jail. Mr. Ketelsen is charged with Careless Operation, Suspended Driver’s License and Negligent Homicide. Both drivers used the appropriate safety equipment and alcohol is not suspected to be factor in this crash. For more information contact: S/T Johnnie L.
