| NEWS RELEASE Troop L February 4, 2008 At 11:50 PM, on February 3, 2008, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a one vehicle crash that resulted in the death of a Lake Charles resident. The crash occurred on US 190 eastbound at milepost 276.2 in St. Tammany Parish. A 2005 Chevrolet pick-up, driven by Jeremy S. Harvey (W/M/Age 30) of Lake Charles, LA, was traveling eastbound on US 190. The driver failed to maintain control of his vehicle as it traveled to the right and impacted a metal guard rail prior to a bridge. The pick-up then traveled to the left, across the roadway traveling approximately 95 feet and impacted the bridge with its left side. During the impact with the bridge a piece of metal guard rail separated from the bridge and struck the driver. The Chevrolet pick-up then veered to the right and back to the left traveling approximately 300 feet before coming to final rest off the roadway. The driver of the 2005 Chevrolet pick-up, Jeremy Harvey was pronounced dead at the scene by Nick Culotta of the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office, due to injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the vehicle was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. Alcohol is suspected in the crash, however; blood was obtained and will be submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. Contact Information: Tfc.
