Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A- NEWS RELEASE Donaldsonville Resident Dies in One Vehicle Crash At 2:51 AM, on Saturday, June 14, 2008, Louisiana State Police – Troop A began investigating a one vehicle fatality. The fatality occurred on LA Hwy 405 east of LA Hwy 1 in Ascension Parish. A Ford Explorer traveled south on LA Hwy 405 and crossed into the northbound lane of travel. In an attempt to return to the southbound lane, the driver overcorrected and the Ford exited the roadway to the right. After leaving the roadway, the Ford struck two trees and came to rest upside down in a ditch. The driver Melissa Joseph (Female/Age 44) of Donaldsonville, LA, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ascension Parish Coroner’s Office. Ms. Joseph did not have seat belt on and alcohol is suspected to be a factor in this crash. For more information contact: S/T Johnnie L.
