Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A- NEWS RELEASE Lettsworth Resident Dies in One Vehicle Crash At 2:13 AM, on Sunday, June 15, 2008, Louisiana State Police – Troop A began investigating a one vehicle fatality. The fatality occurred at the intersection of LA Hwy 1 and LA Hwy 15 in Pointe Coupee Parish. A 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix traveled south on LA Hwy 1, at a high rate of speed and exited the roadway to the right. In an attempt to re-enter the roadway, the driver steered to the left. The Pontiac crossed both lanes of travel, exited the roadway to the left and crashed into a tree prior to coming to rest. The driver of the Pontiac, Joe Green, Jr. (Male/Age 50) of Lettsworth, LA, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pointe Coupee Parish Coroner’s Office. Mr. Green was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol is suspected to be a factor in this crash. For more information contact: S/T Johnnie L.
