Loranger Woman Dies in Tangipahoa Parish Crash

On Monday, June 2, 2008 at 9:35 PM, Louisiana State Police, Troop L investigated a one vehicle fatal crash on LA 443 at milepost 6.7. The crash involved a 1999 Ford F-150 driven by Colleen H. Gonzalez (W/F/Age 38 yrs) of Loranger, LA. The Ford F-150 was traveling southbound on LA 443, when it entered into a curve to the left. The driver failed to negotiate the curve and the vehicle traveled off the roadway to the right. As the Ford traveled off the roadway it struck a bridge guardrail, and the pick-up traveled approximately 150 feet to the left across the roadway. The driver then overcorrected to the right, causing the truck to rotate clockwise and started overturning. As the Ford traveled off the roadway to the right, it overturned twice and impacted a utility pole. During the crash, both the driver and front passenger were ejected from the vehicle.

The driver of the Ford F-150, Colleen H. Gonzalez, of Loranger, LA, was transported to North Oaks Medical Center by Acadian Ambulance to receive medical treatment for severe injuries. Once at the hospital, Colleen Gonzalez was pronounced dead by Dr. Sigiliito, due to injuries sustained in the crash. Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, however, blood was obtained and will be submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. Passenger one, Tommy Trosclair (W/M/Age 31) of Robert, LA, was transported to North Oaks Medical Center by Acadian Ambulance to receive medical treatment for moderate injuries. Passenger two and three are both male juveniles. They were both transported to North Oaks Medical Center by Acadian Ambulance to receive medical treatment for minor injuries. Neither the driver nor the front passenger were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Both juveniles were properly restrained at the time of the crash.
