Two Killed in Crash on Interstate 10 in St. Tammany Parish

Yesterday, just before 2:30 PM in the afternoon, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a three-vehicle fatal crash on Interstate 10, just before the Interstate 12/59 junction at milepost 267.7 in St. Tammany Parish.

A 2004 Pontiac four door, driven by Casey M. Wilson (W/M/age 18) of Bay St. Louis, MS, was traveling westbound on Interstate 10. For unknown reasons the driver lost control of the Pontiac, it traveled across the grass median and onto the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10, directly into the path of oncoming traffic. A 2002 Honda Accord, driven by Erica R. Chatterlee (W/F/age 26) of Picayune, MS, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 and was struck in the rear by the Pontiac. A second impact occurred when a 2005 Dodge van, driven by Tammy A. Henderix (W/F/age 37) of Slidell, LA, impacted the passenger side of the Pontiac four door.

The driver of the Pontiac four door, Casey M. Wilson, of Bay St. Louis, MS, was pronounced dead at the scene by Nick Culotta of the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office, due to injuries sustained in the crash. Alcohol usage by Wilson is unknown; blood was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. The passenger, Joshua T. Jackson (W/M/age 22) of Kiln, MS, was pronounced dead at the scene by Nick Culotta of the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office, due to injuries sustained in the crash. The driver was wearing his seat belt, but the passenger was not.

The driver of the Honda Accord, Erica R. Chatterlee, of Picayune, MS, was not injured in the crash. There were also two juveniles in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Neither juvenile was injured in the crash and child restraints were properly used on both children. The driver was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Dodge van, Tammy A. Henderix, of Slidell, LA, was transported to Slidell Memorial Hospital by Acadian Ambulance, to receive medical treatment for moderate injuries. The driver was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.
