Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release March 26th, 2010 Mississippi Residents charged in Bank Fraud Conspiracy Tangipahoa- On February 25, 2010, Louisiana State Police Region I Detectives received information from Hancock Bank Corporate Security concerning a financial crimes investigation in Tangipahoa Parish. The investigation revealed that Miranda Gladney (W/F age 29) of Florence, MS entered a Hancock Bank in Hammond and opened a commercial checking account under a fictitious company name. Later that day, Gladney and Brandi Ward (W/F age 34) went to a different Hancock Bank branch in Hammond and deposited a counterfeit check valued at $4,921.27 into the commercial account. The following day, Gladney went to the Hancock Bank branch in Independence and withdrew $4,800.00 from the account. On March 10, 2010, Louisiana State Police Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Gladney and Ward. On March 24, 2010, Gladney and Ward were arrested in Rankin County, Ms. Upon extradition back to Louisiana, Gladney will be charged with Bank Fraud, Conspiracy to commit Monetary Instrument Abuse, and Theft. Ward will be charged with Conspiracy to commit Bank Fraud, Monetary Instrument Abuse, and Conspiracy to commit Theft. Both Gladney and Ward will be booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.
