Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release March 9th, 2010 Franklinton Residents arrested in Drug Investigation Franklinton- On March 5, 2010, Louisiana State Police Region I Narcotic Detectives received information about an alleged heroin dealer in the city of Franklinton, LA. After further investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant for a residence located at 1519 Dobson Street in Franklinton. During the search, investigators located 19.5 grams of marijuana, 4.9 grams of heroin, and fourteen "foil packets" of heroin packaged for distribution. This operation resulted in the arrest of Michael Dickerson (B/M age 37) and Stephanie Garrett (B/F age 27) both of Franklinton, LA. Both subjects were taken into custody without incident and booked into the Washington Parish Jail charged with Possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance (Heroin), Possession of a Schedule I CDS (Marijuana) and Possession of a CDS in presence of persons under the age of 17 years of age. This operation was a success due to a joint effort by Louisiana State Police Region I Narcotic Detectives, LSP Troop L Troopers, Washington Parish Drug Task Force Agents, and the Franklinton Police Department.
