| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A- NEWS RELEASE Speed A Factor In Fatal Crash At 6:59 PM, on Friday, June 20, 2008, Louisiana State Police Troop – A began investigating a single vehicle fatality. The crash occurred near the intersection of LA Hwy 308 at LA Hwy 943 in Ascension Parish. A 1996 Ford Explorer traveled southbound through a curve on LA Hwy 308. Just after exiting the curve, the Ford traveled off the right side of the road, entered a ditch and struck a culvert. After striking the culvert, the Ford began to flip, causing the driver to be ejected, before coming to rest. The driver of the Ford, Tristan P. Prejean (Male/Age 24) of Napoleonville, LA, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ascension Parish Coroner’s Office. Mr. Prejean was not wearing a seat belt and the investigating trooper suspects speed to be a contributing factor in the crash. For more information contact: S/T Johnnie L.
