Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release March 11th, 2010 Loranger Resident killed in One Vehicle Crash Tangipahoa – Today at 08:00 am, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a one vehicle fatal crash at the intersection of LA 443 and LA 1064 in Tangipahoa Parish. A 2006 GMC pickup truck, driven by Robert Ezell (W/M age 66) of Loranger, LA, was traveling eastbound on LA 1064 approaching its intersection with LA 443. Upon reaching the intersection, the driver of the GMC pickup failed to come to a stop and proceeded east across LA 443 running off of the paved roadway. The GMC then impacted a tree with its front end and came to rest off road on the east side of the intersection. After further investigation, it was determined that the crash occurred on March 10th, 2010 at approximately 8:30 pm. The GMC pickup truck was discovered by a Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputy earlier this morning with Ezell deceased behind the wheel. Ezell was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tangipahoa Parish Coroner’s office. Alcohol use is unknown at this time with a toxicology test pending by the Coroner’s office.
