Motorcyclist killed in I-10 Crash

Slidell – Today at 2:28 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a two vehicle fatal crash on Interstate 10 eastbound at milepost #265.8 in St. Tammany Parish.

A 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Rickey P. Prince-Bouton (W/M age 50) of Mereaux, LA, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 in the left lane of travel. A 1993 International 18 wheeler, driven by Marvin Schwartz (W/M age 54) of Dubois, IN, was eastbound in the right lane of Interstate 10. As both vehicles approached the I-10 E/B off ramp to U.S. 190 (Gause Blvd.), the Harley Davidson motorcycle veered into the right lane crossing directly into the path of the 18 wheeler. The motorcycle was then impacted by the 18 wheeler causing Prince-Bouton to be ejected from the bike and land in the right lane of I-10 eastbound. Upon landing in the right lane, Prince-Bouton was run over by the trailer of the 18 wheeler.

Prince-Bouton was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s office. Alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor in the crash. A toxicology test will be performed by the Coroner’s office.

Schwartz was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was not injured. He was transported to the Slidell Police Department for a chemical breath test and submitted a .000g% BAC sample.
