| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release January 12th, 2010 Tickfaw Resident killed in I-12 Crash Hammond – Today at 06:55 am, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a one vehicle fatal crash on Interstate 12 westbound at milepost #37 in Tangipahoa Parish. A 2004 Mercury Mountaineer, driven by Leshell D. Hally (B/F age 41) of Tickfaw, LA, was traveling westbound on Interstate 12 in the left lane of travel. As the Mercury Mountaineer continued westbound, the left rear tire of the vehicle blew out causing its tread to fall apart. Hally then swerved to the right causing the vehicle to enter the right westbound lane, at which time, she overcorrected back to the left causing the Mountaineer to rotate in a counterclockwise manner. As the vehicle rotated, it overturned and rolled twice before coming to rest upright in the right lane of Interstate 12 westbound. Hally was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tangipahoa Parish Coroner’s Office. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and alcohol use is not suspected. A blood sample was taken from Hally for analysis.
