Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release October 4, 2009 Bogalusa Man Killed in Crash on LA 1058 in Tangipahoa Parish Troop L - Yesterday, just before 5:30 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a one-vehicle fatal crash on LA 1058, at milepost 0.9 in Tangipahoa Parish. At 5:20 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a fatal crash that resulted in the death of a Bogalusa resident. A 1988 Chevrolet Beretta, driven by Peter Miller (W/M/Age 19) of Bogalusa, LA, was traveling southbound on LA 1058. Miller failed to negotiate a curve on the roadway to the left. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and continued south for approximately 430 feet. The Chevrolet Beretta struck a tree with its rear passenger side and then impacted another tree on its driver’s side. The driver of the Chevrolet Beretta, Peter Miller, of Bogalusa, LA, was transported to Hood Hospital by Acadian Ambulance, to receive medical treatment for severe injuries. While at Hood Hospital, Miller was pronounced dead by Dr. Federline, due to injuries sustained in the crash. Alcohol/drugs use is unknown in the crash; blood was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. The driver was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
