Fatal Crash on LA 436 in Washington Parish

Yesterday evening, April 25, 2009, at approximately 6:50 PM, Louisiana State Troopers investigated a hit and run fatality crash in Washington Parish, which resulted in the death of an Angie resident. The crash occurred on LA 436, 6.1 miles east of LA 62, at milepost 16.4.

A 1998 GMC pickup, driven by Tilor Foster (W/M/age 18) of Angie, LA, was traveling westbound LA 436. For unknown reasons, the GMC pickup began to rotate counter-clockwise, crossed over the centerline, exited the roadway to the left, traveled up a grass embankment and began to flip over. While the GMC was flipping over, three of the occupants were ejected from the vehicle.

The driver of the GMC pickup, Tilor Foster, of Angie, LA, was transported to LSU Medical Center (Bogalusa) by Northshore EMS, to receive medical treatment for severe injuries. Once at LSU Medical Center, Foster was pronounced dead by Dr. Gary Goldbard, due to injuries sustained in the crash. Alcohol use is not suspected for Foster; blood was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. Passenger one, Christopher Bangs (W/M/age 19) of Angie, LA, was transported to LSU Medical Center by Northshore EMS, to receive medical treatment for minor injuries. Passenger two and three, were both juveniles and were transported to LSU Medical Center by Northshore EMS, to receive medical treatment for minor injuries. Occupants in the vehicle were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

Louisiana State police is looking for a vehicle of interest that was possibly in the area at the time of the crash. The vehicle of interest is a dark colored Ford pickup. If anyone has information, which would help the Louisiana State Police identify the unknown vehicle or its driver, please contact Troop L at (985)893-6250.
