Edmonson, Superintendent August 27, 2009 Impaired Drivers Checkpoint On Friday, August 28, 2009 the Louisiana State Police, Troop L and the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office will conduct an impaired driver’s checkpoint somewhere in Tangipahoa Parish, between the hours of 10:00 pm and 4:00 am weather permitting. This checkpoint will focus on any driver who has consumed alcohol or drugs. If these drivers are found to be impaired, they will be removed from the road and arrested. This is a continuing effort conducted by the Louisiana State Police to educate the public of the dangers of impaired driving and reduce the number of impaired drivers on the roadway.
