Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release August 14, 2009 Driver Killed in Crash on LA 435 in St. Tammany Parish Today, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a one-vehicle fatal crash on LA 435, just south of McIntyre Road in St. Tammany Parish. At 3:10 AM, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a fatal crash that resulted in the death of a Bush resident. A 2007 Ford pickup, driven by Daniel G. Ard (W/M/Age 36) of Bush, LA, was traveling northbound on LA 435. Ard’s vehicle traveled off the roadway to the right for approximately 150 feet. Ard then overcorrected to the left and the pickup traveled off the roadway to the left. The Ford pickup entered into a ditch traveled across McIntyre Road and then struck a tree with its front end. The driver of the Ford pickup, Daniel G. Ard, of Bush, LA, was pronounced dead at the scene by Vincent Giordano of the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office, due to injuries sustained in the crash. The driver was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. Alcohol use is suspected in the crash; blood was obtained and will be submitted for analysis.
