| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE State Police, Troop A – News Release For Immediate Release Tree Trimmers Locate Missing Man April 3, 2008 At 3:00 PM, on Thursday, April 3, 2008, Louisiana State Police – Troop A was notified by the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office of a fatal motorcycle crash. The crash occurred on US Hwy 61 south of LA Hwy 66 in West Feliciana Parish. Several employees of a tree removal service were preparing to cut down a tree positioned next to an Entergy utility pole and discovered a body next to a crashed motorcycle. The workers contacted the West Feliciana Sheriff’s Office, who then contacted Troop A and reported what the employees of the tree removal service discovered. Troopers arrived on the scene and based on the license plate information contacted the Woodville Police Department and the Wilkerson County Sheriff. Troopers were informed that the driver of the motorcycle, Mr. Joel D. Williams (a twenty-four year old male) of Woodville, MS, was reported missing in June 2007. Troopers determined that Mr. Williams traveled northbound on US Hwy 61 from New Orleans, LA to Woodville, MS. As the roadway curved to the right, the motorcycle continued straight, entered a ravine and crashed into a tree. Mr. Williams was wearing a helmet and alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in this crash. For more information contact: S/T Johnnie L.
