The crash has claimed the life of 33-year-old Archie Herbert Moore Jr. of Independence. The initial investigation led Troopers to determine that the crash occurred as Moore was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Colorado westbound on US 190. For reasons still under investigation, Moore’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, Moore’s vehicle entered the ditch and crashed into a driveway embankment. He was transported to North Oaks Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased shortly after his arrival. As part of the ongoing investigation, blood samples were collected and will be sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. Troopers would like to remind motorists of the importance of safe decisions behind the wheel. Please take a moment to speak with your loved ones about the importance of their safe decisions.
