Unrestrained Occupant Pronounced Dead At Hospital

April 16, 2008

At 8:03 PM, on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, Louisiana State Police – Troop A responded to a single vehicle crash that resulted in the death of a Greensburg, LA resident. The crash occurred on LA Hwy 1 south of LA Hwy 419 in Pointe Coupee Parish.

A 1994 Mazda Pickup truck, driven by Charles L. Laborde (Male/Age 37) of Greensburg, LA, traveled northbound on LA Hwy 1 and veered slightly off the road to the right. In an attempt to return to the roadway, Mr. Laborde steered to the left and the truck began to rotate. While rotating, the pickup truck rolled over and came to rest on the shoulder of the road.

Mr. Laborde was transported to Pointe Coupee General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead by the hospital staff. He was not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in this crash.
