| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE State Police, Troop A – News Release For Immediate Release Passenger of Disabled Vehicle Dies In Crash April 16, 2008 At 11:55 PM, on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, Louisiana State Police – Troop A responded to a one vehicle crash that led to a fatality. The crash occurred on Interstate 10 (westbound) at milepost 131 in Iberville Parish. A Nissan Sentra traveled west on Interstate 10 (I-10) and crashed into the bridge railing before stopping in the roadway. The driver and passenger in the Nissan exited the vehicle and stood on the left shoulder. While standing on the shoulder, the driver of a Ford Pickup truck, Mr. Keith L. Wilson (Male/Age 28) of Bude, MS, crashed into the disabled vehicle. The collision caused the Ford to spin to the right at which point the rear of the pickup truck struck the passenger from the Nissan Sentra. Soon thereafter, the driver of a Chevrolet Lumina, Mr. Lance C. LeBlanc (Male/Age 19) of Duson, LA, traveled through both crash scenes striking the pedestrian a second time. The passenger from the Nissan, Cassandra C. Thomas (Female/Age 19) of Roseland, LA, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Iberville Parish Coroner’s Office. The driver of the Nissan, Christopher Jackson (Male/Age 19) of Opelousas, LA, was not injured. The driver of the Ford Pickup truck, Mr. Wilson, and passenger, Mr. Billy Brown (Male/Age 29) of Meadeville, MS, were not injured. The driver of the Chevrolet, Lance C. LeBlanc (Male/Age 19) of Duson, LA, and his passenger, Sara Arceneaux (Female/Age 17) of Duson, LA, were not injured. Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in this crash and there are no charges.
