Hermon – On Friday August 30, 2019 at approximately 7:30 AM, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L responded to a single vehicle fatal crash on LA 440 west of LA 450 in Washington Parish. The crash has claimed the life of 37-year-old Terry A. Haney Jr. of Baton Rouge and 35-year-old Johnny Tyrell Harvey of Mt. Hermon. The initial investigation led Troopers to determine that Haney was driving a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero westbound on LA 440. For reasons still under investigation, Haney’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and crash into a tree. Haney and his front seat passenger, Harvey, were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Both occupants sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased on scene. As part of the ongoing investigation, blood samples were collected for analysis. Troopers would like to remind motorists of the importance of safe decisions behind the wheel. Please take a moment to speak with your loved ones about the importance of their safe decisions. Remind them to always wear a seatbelt, never drive impaired, and to avoid distractions. The conversation could be the difference in a serious crash. Contact Information: | |||
