Pedestrian Killed in Crash on LA 442

Tickfaw – Shortly before 8:00 pm, on Friday November 9, 2018, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L responded to a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on LA 442 approximately 1.5 miles west of Interstate 55 in Tangipahoa Parish. The crash has claimed the life of 27-year-old Joseph Lance Berry of Tickfaw.

The initial investigation led Troopers to determine that Berry was walking across the westbound lane of LA 442, when he was struck by a 2006 Saturn Vue. The Saturn was driven by 34-year-old Blair Arceneaux Partin of Holden. Berry sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased on scene by the Tangipahoa Parish Coroner’s Office.

As part of the ongoing investigation, blood samples were collected from Berry and will be sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. Partin submitted to a voluntary breath sample, which showed no alcohol was present. Partin was not cited in the crash and there are no charges pending.
