Edmonson, Superintendent State Police – Troop A Vehicle Strikes Tree, Driver Pronounced Dead May 21, 2008 At 9:43 AM, on Wednesday, May 21, 2008, Louisiana State Police – Troop A began investigating a one vehicle crash. The crash occurred on LA Hwy 411 south of US Hwy 190 in Pointe Coupee Parish. A 1999 Honda Accord, driven by Miriam N. Woolfolk (Female/Age 74) of Maringouin, LA, traveled south on LA Hwy 411 and gradually exited the roadway to the right. Upon leaving the roadway, the Honda traveled through a ditch and crashed head-on into a tree. Ms. Woolfolk was on her way home from a kidney dialysis center in New Roads, LA when the crash occurred. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pointe Coupee Parish Coroner’s Office. The Coroner’s Office is investigating the possibility of a medical problem being the cause of the crash. A seatbelt was not used and alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor in this crash. For more information contact: S/T Johnnie L.
