TROOP L NEWS RELEASE September 18, 2013 Unidentified Hit and Run Victim Discovered along Interstate 10 Slidell, LA – This afternoon Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L began investigating the death of an unidentified male pedestrian suspected to be the victim of a hit and run crash along Interstate 10 in St. Tammany Parish. The victim was discovered by an alert motorist shortly after 3:00pm today lying in the grass along the westbound lanes of I-10 approximately three miles west of the LA/MS state line. At this time, Troopers are working to identify both the victim and the hit and run vehicle. Troopers suspect the crash to have occurred around 2:00am as the male victim was walking near or on the right white fog line of Interstate 10 when he was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle. Impairment on behalf of the pedestrian is unknown at this time pending a toxicology exam. Anyone with information regarding the identity of the victim (W/M approximately 60 years old), the identity of the suspect vehicle, or the events of the crash is urged to contact Troop L at 985-893-6250.
