Unrestrained Man Dies in Tangipahoa Parish Single Vehicle Crash

Robert - Last night at approximately 11:40 pm Louisiana State Police Troop L responded to a single vehicle fatal crash on US 190 in Robert near the Wal-Mart Distribution Center. The crash took the life of Bobby Creekmore Jr. of Robert.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 1991 Ford operated by Creekmore (W/M 44) was traveling eastbound on US 190. Creekmore, for reasons under investigation, veered right, traveled off the road, entered a ditch and struck a culvert. Creekmore was not restrained, sustained life threatening injuries, and was transported to North Oaks Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Impairment is not suspected in this crash; however, a blood sample was taken from Creekmore for a toxicological analysis. Those results are pending as this crash remains under investigation.

Statistics show that injury crashes occur across our nation approximately every seven and a half minutes. Choosing to ALWAYS buckle up is the simplest thing you can do to protect yourself from serious injury or death when involved in any crash. Louisiana State Police urge motorists and occupants to take the time before every trip to buckle!
