Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A - NEWS RELEASE Slaughter Man Thrown From ATV, Struck on State Highway BATON ROUGE – Troop A investigated a fatal crash this morning on LA 67 north of LA 64 in East Baton Rouge Parish shortly after 2:00 a.m. Preliminary investigation revealed Troy Evans (B/M, age 31) of Slaughter was driving a 4-wheeler south in the northbound lane of LA 67 when he lost control and was thrown from the 4-wheeler. Evans came to rest in the northbound lane and was struck by two vehicles before witnesses were able to stop traffic. The East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office pronounced Evans deceased at the scene. Witnesses were unable to identify the first vehicle that struck Evans. The second vehicle that struck him, a 2003 Buick Century, stopped at the scene. The driver of the Buick was not impaired and was not charged in the crash. Troopers are trying to locate the other vehicle involved in the crash.
