TROOP L - NEWS RELEASE September 12, 2016 Troopers Seize Over 31 Terabytes of Suspected Child Pornography from Northshore Resident Slidell, LA- A month’s long investigation by Troopers with the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit led to the arrest of 73 year-old Slidell resident Lanier Lively. The investigation began in April as Detectives observed a computer connecting to the internet from the IP address assigned to Lively’s residence was sharing explicit files that were identified as Pornography Involving Juveniles. On Monday September 12, 2016, Detectives, Troopers, and Federal Agents with US Homeland Security Investigations executed the search warrant. During the course of the search, Troopers found approximately 23 electronic devices totaling over 31 terabytes of suspected child pornography. Lively was arrested without incident and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail for 500 counts of Possession of Child Pornography and one count of distribution of child pornography. The investigation is on-going and additional charges are likely. Under Colonel Mike Edmonson’s administration, the Louisiana State Police instituted the Special Victims Unit. The unit predominantly focuses on rescuing victims and delivering justice to the perpetrators of crimes involving the exploitation of children and the trafficking of humans for sex or labor. “There is no more appalling criminal that those who target our children.
