The crash claimed the life of 51 year-old Cheryl Edwards Billiot of Pensacola, FL. Based on physical evidence and witness statements, crash scene investigators determined that the crash occurred as Billiot was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro eastbound on Interstate 10 in the center lane. She was pronounced deceased on-scene by the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office. Two Guardsmen also sustained moderate injuries in the crash and were transported to Slidell Memorial Hospital. Impairment is not suspected to have been a factor in this crash. As part of the on-going investigation, blood samples were obtained from all involved drivers and will be sent to the crime lab for analysis.
