TROOP L NEWS RELEASE June 21, 2017 Zachary Resident Killed in Three Vehicle Crash on LA 10 Greensburg- At 10:15 AM on Wednesday June 21, 2017, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L responded to a three vehicle fatal crash on LA 10 near the intersection of Felton Hall Rd. in St. Helena Parish. The crash claimed the life of 27-year-old Brittney Mornesha Robinson of Zachary. Based on physical evidence, Troopers determined that Robinson was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox west on LA 10. Ahead of Robinson, a 2002 Ford Expedition, driven by 31-year-old Brian Terrell Callahan of Greensburg was slowing to turn right onto Felton Hall Rd. For reasons still under investigation, Robinson failed to stop and crashed into the rear of the Expedition. After crashing into the Expedition, Robinson’s vehicle traveled left into the eastbound lane, where it was struck head-on by a 2000 Ford F-350 driven by 48-year-old Adronicus L. Matthews. Despite being properly restrained, Robinson sustained severe injuries in the crash. She was pronounced deceased on-scene by the St. Helena Parish Coroner’s Office. Callahan and Matthews were also properly restrained. Callahan was transported to Greensburg Medical by Acadian Ambulance. Matthews was uninjured. Alcohol is not suspected as a contributing factor. Matthews and Callahan both provided voluntary breath samples, which showed no amount of alcohol present. As part of the on-going investigation, blood samples were obtained and will be sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. While the cause of this crash remains under investigation, attentiveness behind the wheel continues to be a contributing factor in many of the preventable crashes that Troopers investigate daily. Please, take a moment and speak to your loved ones about the importance of safe decisions on the road. Explain to them the dangers that distractions and impairment pose to all motorists. The conversation you have today could be the difference tomorrow.
