Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A - NEWS RELEASE October 23, 2009 One-Vehicle Crash Claims the Life of Austin Man PORT ALLEN – Louisiana State Police Troop A investigated a one-vehicle crash last night on Interstate 10, west of LA 415 that claimed the life of the driver. Daniel J. Jeansonne (W/M, age 38) of Austin, TX was driving a 1998 Ford Explorer west on I-10 when he ran off the roadway to the left. The Explorer re-entered the roadway, began to rotate clockwise, and ran off the right side of the road. The Explorer rolled onto its left side then onto its roof before striking a tree. Jeansonne was pronounced deceased at the scene by the West Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office. Alcohol is not suspected to have been a factor in the crash. However, Troopers have submitted a sample of Jeansonne’s blood to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis. Contact Information: Tpr Russell G.
