Edmonson, Superintendent Troop I Press Release May 16, 2011 Church Point Man Dies in Three Vehicle Crash Acadia Parish- Today, Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a three car crash on LA 98 at LA 343 that claimed the life of a Church Point man. According to investigating troopers, on May 16, 2011, shortly before 1:00 p.m., a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 47-year-old Frank Kuhn of Church Point, LA, was traveling east on LA 98. A 2007 Kenworth 18-wheeler, driven by 48-year-old Philip Broussard of Abbeville, LA, was traveling west on LA 98 approaching Kuhn. Broussard turned left onto LA 343 into the path of Kuhn’s vehicle. Kuhn braked in an attempt to stop but was unsuccessful. Kuhn struck the right side of the trailer and was ejected from the vehicle. Kuhn slid under a 2011 GMC truck driven by 49-year-old Alfonse Credeur of Church Point, LA. Credeur was stopped behind the 18-wheeler at the time of the crash. Kuhn was pronounced dead at the scene by the Acadia Parish Coroner. Broussard and Credeur were not injured in the crash. Toxicology samples were obtained from all three drivers.
