Edmonson, Superintendent Troop I Press Release May 2, 2011 Franklin Man Dies in Crash Garden City- Last night, Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a two vehicle crash on LA 182 in Garden City that claimed the life of a 48-year-old Franklin man. According to investigating troopers on May 1, 2011, at 8:58 p.m., a 1992 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 48-year-old Kevin Lagrange of Franklin, LA, was traveling east on LA 182. A 2004 Dodge truck driven by 27-year-old Michael Lee of Franklin, LA, was traveling west on LA 182 approaching Lagrange. Lee, in an attempt to enter a private driveway, turned left in front of Lagrange. Lagrange’s vehicle struck the right side of Lee’s vehicle. After impact, Lagrange’s vehicle traveled off the roadway and came to rest. Lagrange was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. When he arrived at the hospital Lagrange was pronounced dead by the emergency room physician. Lee was not injured in the crash. Toxicology samples were obtained from both drivers. The results are pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. This crash remains under investigation. For More Information Contact: | |||
