Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A - NEWS RELEASE November 4, 2009 Florida Man Arrested for Possession of Over 30 Pounds of Marijuana Grosse Tete – Troopers seized a 1990 Freightliner and arrested a Florida man this morning after finding over thirty pounds of marijuana hidden inside his truck. At 6:30 am, State Police stopped Edward Gross (W/M, age 53) of Marianna, FL on Interstate 10 eastbound near Grosse Tete for a Motor Carrier Safety Inspection. Gross was pulling an empty trailer from Edna, TX to Alfred, FL and did not have a log book at the time of the stop. Shortly after the stop, the K-9 unit from State Police, Troop I arrived and the K-9 alerted to the cab of the truck. A subsequent search led to the discovery of nearly 31 pounds of marijuana hidden under the bunk in the sleeper. Troopers arrested Gross and booked him into the Iberville Parish Prison on charges of Possession of Schedule I Drugs with Intent to Distribute. Contact Information: Tpr Russell G.
