Troop I - NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release November 8, 2011 Crash Claims the Life of a Franklin Man St. Mary- Last night, Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a crash on US 90 Frontage Road near LA 318 in Centerville. The crash claimed the life of a Franklin man. According to investigating troopers, on November 7, 2011 at 8:15 p.m., 39-year-old Aaron Burgess of Franklin, LA, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Impala east on the US 90 Frontage Road. Lester Redeaux, 40-years-old of Franklin, LA, was walking in the road with the flow of traffic with his two children ages 2 and 11. Burgess was approaching the pedestrians from behind and struck Redeaux and the 2-year-old. Redeaux was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead by the emergency room physician. The 2-year-old sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The 11-year-old was not injured in the crash. Burgess was uninjured as well. Routine toxicology samples have been obtained and submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. Louisiana State Law requires that all pedestrians walk on the far left side of the roadway against the flow of traffic.
