According to investigating troopers, on August 11, 2011, at 1:25 a.m., 18-year-old Joseph Dressel of New Iberia, LA, was driving a 1997 Toyota south on LA 345. For unknown reasons, Dressel ran off the left side of the road, entered a ditch, and struck a concrete culvert. Louisiana State Police reminds everyone that state law requires all persons riding in motor vehicles be properly restrained. While wearing a seatbelt will not save you in every crash it will reduce your risk of injury in most crashes.
