Edmonson, Superintendent Troop I Press Release November 9, 2010 Unrestrained Driver Killed in Crash St. Landry Parish- Early this morning, Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a single vehicle crash on LA 107 near Bayou Jack Road that claimed the life of a Plaucheville man. According to investigating troopers, on November 9, 2010, at 4:00 a.m., a 2005 Dodge truck driven by 57-year-old Jerry Arnold of Plaucheville, LA, was traveling south on LA 107. For reasons unknown, Arnold failed to negotiate a slight right curve. Arnold crossed the center line, the northbound lane and exited the roadway. Arnold’s vehicle traveled through a ditch, struck an oak tree and came to rest in the ditch. Arnold, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene. He was pronounced dead by the St. Landry Parish Coroner. Routine toxicology samples are pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. This crash remains under investigation. This is the 55th fatal crash and the 60th fatality Troop I has investigated in 2010. For More Information Contact: | |||
