Edmonson, Superintendent Troop I Press Release November 29, 2010 Abbeville Woman Dies in Crash Lafayette- Last night, Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a two vehicle crash on LA 339 at Savoy Road that claimed the life of an Abbeville woman. According to investigating troopers, on November 28, 2010, shortly before 6:30 p.m., 47-year-old Dallas Fabre of Carencro, LA, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet truck east on Savoy Road. A 2005 Infinity passenger car driven by 68-year-old Joseph Tinker of Abbeville, LA, was traveling south on LA 339 approaching Savoy Road. As Fabre was approaching LA 339 he failed to stop at a two-way stop sign and entered the southbound lane of LA 339. Fabre’s vehicle struck the right side of Tinker’s vehicle. After impact, Tinker’s vehicle overturned and came to rest upright on private property. Fabre’s vehicle came to rest in the east ditch. Joseph Tinker sustained moderate injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital. The passenger in Joseph Tinker’s vehicle, 65-year-old Bobbie Tinker of Abbeville, LA, died as a result of the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lafayette Parish Coroner. Fabre was not injured in the crash. Toxicology samples were obtained from both drivers. The results are pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. This crash remains under investigation. This is the 58th fatal crash and the 63rd fatality Troop I has investigated this year. For More Information Contact: | |||
