Edmonson, Superintendent Troop I Press Release October 17, 2010 Unrestrained Driver Killed in Crash Evangeline Parish- This morning, Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a single vehicle crash on Rozas Road north of LA 29. The driver, and lone occupant of the vehicle, died as a result of the crash. According to investigating troopers, on October 17, 2010, at 3:44 a.m., 19-year-old James Rozas of Ville Platte, LA, was driving east on Rozas Road in a 1998 Chevrolet truck. For unknown reasons, Rozas ran off the left side of the road. The vehicle entered a ditch and overturned, ejecting the unrestrained Rozas. Rozas was transported to a local hospital by Acadian Ambulance. When he arrived at the hospital, Rozas was pronounced dead. Routine toxicology samples are pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. The crash remains under investigation. This is the 50th fatal crash and the 55th fatality Troop I has investigated this year. For More Information Contact: | |||
