Edmonson, Superintendent Troop I Press Release October 13, 2010 Crash in Basile Claims One Life Basile- Last night, Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a single vehicle fatal crash on US 190 east of Basile, LA. According to investigating troopers, on October 12, 2010, at 4:18 p.m., 62-year-old Dave Guillory of Eunice, LA, was traveling West on US 190 in a 1997 Ford truck. For unknown reasons, Guillory traveled off the right side of the road and entered a ditch. The vehicle struck a private driveway, traveled over a coulee, and struck a concrete retaining wall. Guillory was not wearing a seatbelt, and was ejected from the vehicle. Guillory was pronounced dead at the scene by the Evangeline Parish Coroner. Routine toxicology samples are pending.
