Edmonson, Superintendent Troop I Press Release October 16, 2010 Crash in St. Landry Leave One Person Dead St. Landry Parish- Early this morning, Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a single vehicle crash on LA 103 south of US 167. The crash claimed the life of a Gonzales woman. According to investigating troopers, on October 16, 2010, shortly before 3:00 a.m., a 1999 Toyota Corolla driven by 21-year-old Tabatha Gaudin of Gonzales, LA, was traveling south on LA 103. For unknown reasons, Gaudin failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the right side of the roadway. Gaudin’s vehicle entered a ditch, struck a culvert, and overturned. Gaudin was not restrained and died as a result of the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Landry Parish Coroner. A passenger in the vehicle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Routine toxicology samples are pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab.
