Edmonson, Superintendent Troop I Press Release December 5, 2010 Pedestrian Dies in Crash Eunice- Last night, Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a fatal crash involving a vehicle and two pedestrians on US 190 near the Cash Magic Casino. An Elton woman died as a result of the crash. According to investigating troopers, on December 4, 2010, at 11:42 p.m., two pedestrians were walking in the roadway near the center line. Patrick Noel of Welsh, LA, and Jana Guillory of Elton, LA both 30-years-old, were in the westbound lane of travel when a 1997 Chevrolet truck driven by 22-year-old Kinsey Manuel of Eunice, LA approached them. Manuel, who was traveling in the left lane, braked and steered to the left in an attempt to miss them, but she was unsuccessful. The front right portion of her vehicle struck both Noel and Guillory. Guillory died as a result of her injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Landry Parish Coroner. Noel sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Manuel was not injured in the crash. Routine toxicology samples were obtained and the results are pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. This crash remains under investigation. This is the 63rd fatal crash and the 67th fatality Troop I has investigated this year. For More Information Contact: | |||
