Edmonson, Superintendent Troop I Press Release December 6, 2010 Morgan City Man Dies in Crash St. Landry Parish- Last night, Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a two vehicle crash on I-49 milepost 21. The crash claimed the life of a Morgan City man. According to investigating troopers, on December 5, 2010, shortly before 6:00 p.m., 58-year-old Lee Metz of Morgan City, LA, was driving a 1993 Ford truck south on I-49. For unknown reasons, Metz crossed the median and struck a northbound 2007 GMC truck driven by 47-year-old Michael Anderson of Ville Platte. Both vehicles came to rest in the median. Metz died as a result of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Landry Parish Coroner. Anderson sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Routine toxicology samples were obtained and the results are pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. This crash remains under investigation. For More Information Contact: | |||
