Edmonson, Superintendent Troop I Press Release March 11, 2011 19-Year-Old Dies in Two Vehicle Crash St. Landry- Yesterday, Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a two vehicle crash on US 190 west of Port Barre that claimed the life of a 19-year-old Pleasant Hill woman. According to investigating troopers, on March 10, 2011, shortly before 6:00 p.m., 42-year-old Michael Turner of Addison, LA, was driving a 1998 Volks Wagon tractor trailer east on US 190. Turner had stopped in the road and was preparing to make a left turn into a private driveway. A 2000 Mitsubishi Galant driven by 19-year-old Cady Gregory of Pleasant Hill, LA, was approaching Turner’s vehicle from the rear. Gregory struck the rear of the trailer and was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Landry Parish Coroner. Toxicology samples were obtained from both drivers and have been submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
