Edmonson, Superintendent Troop I Press Release January 31, 2011 Texas Man Dies in Single Vehicle Crash This morning, Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a single vehicle fatal crash on I-10 eastbound at the Egan exit. According to investigating troopers, on January 31, 2011, at 2:00 a.m., 41-year-old Joel Gamble of Conroe, TX, was driving a 1999 Ford truck on I-10 eastbound exit ramp at milepost 72. Gamble failed to negotiate a right curve and ran off the left side of the road. Gamble’s vehicle traveled through the grass gore and struck a tree. Gamble was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and died at the scene. He was pronounced dead by the Acadia Parish Coroner. Toxicology samples were obtained and the results are pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. This crash remains under investigation. For More Information Contact: | |||
