Edmonson, Superintendent Troop I Press Release December 23, 2010 Hit and Run Crash Leaves Youngsville Man Dead Vermilion Parish- This morning, Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a hit and run crash on LA 339 near Perkins Road. The crash left a Youngsville man dead. According to investigating troopers, on December 23, 2010, at 3:14 a.m., 37-year-old Heath Falterman of Youngsville, LA, was standing on LA 339 near Perkins Road after the vehicle he was driving ran off the road and entered a ditch. After exiting his vehicle, Falterman was standing in the road and was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling on LA 339. After striking Falterman, the vehicle fled the scene. Falterman was pronounced dead at the scene by the Vermilion Parish Coroner. Troopers ask that anyone with any information about this crash call Troop I at 337-262-5880 extension 0.
