Edmonson, Superintendent Troop I Press Release January 28, 2011 Troopers Arrest Man for Possession of 20 Pounds of Marijuana St. Martin Parish- Today, troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop I arrested a North Carolina man for possession with the intent to distribute marijuana. On January 28, 2011, shortly after 9:30 a.m., troopers stopped a 2007 Chevrolet Impala traveling east on Interstate 10 near milepost 113. The vehicle was stopped for following another vehicle too close. During the stop troopers obtained permission to search the vehicle from the driver, 26-year-old Quentin Pritchard of Washington, North Carolina. A search of the vehicle yielded 20.66 pounds of marijuana. The marijuana has an estimated street value of $20,650.00. Troopers arrested Pritchard for Following too close and Possession with the intent to distribute marijuana. He was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. “Louisiana State Police Troop I remains committed to locating persons transporting narcotics in our state,” said Captain Troy Meche, Commander Troop I. “We will do everything we can to keep these narcotics out of the hands of our children and out of our communities.” For More Information Contact: | |||
