Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A - NEWS RELEASE Young Woman Killed in Motorcycle Crash BATON ROUGE – Louisiana State Police Troop A investigated a motorcycle fatal crash in Pointe Coupee Parish today on LA 411 south of US 190 shortly before 3:00 p.m. Troopers’ investigation revealed that Amanda Burns (W/F, age 40) of Zachary was riding a 2008 Harley Davidson Motorcycle northbound on LA 411 when she failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the road to the left and struck a number of small trees. Burns was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered fatal injuries. Troopers do not suspect that Burns was impaired; however, they have submitted a sample of her blood to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis. Burns did not have a motorcycle endorsement on her driver’s license as required by state law. Contact Information: TFC Russell G.
