TROOP I NEWS RELEASE March 27, 2013 Lake Charles Couple Arrested for Possessing Over $165,000 in Stolen Property Yesterday, Louisiana State Police Insurance Fraud Detectives arrested a Lake Charles couple for charges relating to possession of stolen vehicles. In October 2011, Detectives received information about suspected stolen property from a LoJack asset tracking system. The information led Detectives to the residence of 49-year-old Katherine Larocca and 51-year-old Ronnie Larocca both of Lake Charles. A search of the property and residence led to the recovery of an assortment of stolen vehicles, farm equipment and trailers. During the 1 year and 5 month long investigation, Detectives learned that the recovered property had been reported stolen to authorities in Texas and Louisiana. The total estimated value of the recovered property is approximately $165,000.00. Earlier this month, the United States Attorneys Office for the Western District of Louisiana secured an indictment for both Ronnie and Katherine Larocca. The indictment charged the couple with one count each of criminal conspiracy and three (3) counts each of sale or receipt of a stolen vehicle. Both individuals were taken into custody without incident yesterday afternoon with the assistance of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Additional arrests are expected and this case remains under investigation. For More Information Contact: | |||
