Unrestrained Driver Dies in Crash

VERMILION PARISH- This morning, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a single vehicle fatal crash on LA Highway 82 at Gallet Road which claimed the life of a Youngsville man.

According to investigating Troopers, at 4:22 a.m., 34-year-old Bryan Badon of Youngsville was driving a 2007 Dodge Ram east on LA Highway 82 approaching a curve. Badon failed to negotiate the curve, traveled off the right side of the road causing his vehicle to overturn. Badon was unrestrained and was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

It is unknown if impairment was a factor in the crash; however, toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

Troopers remind drivers and passengers, that Louisiana Law requires all occupants of motor vehicles to be properly restrained. While wearing a seatbelt will not save you in every crash, it will greatly reduce the risk of injuries in most crashes.
